Our Jackson Get Away!

All the way back in September, Chance and I were trying to decide what to do for our
8th anniversary. Which was on November 4th. Me being a winter lover, decided we should go to Jackson hole when it was really snow and cold. So we planned our anniversary get away for January. We set off at 6 o'clock in the morning and had a wonderful kid free 6 hour drive. The roads were really bad so we had to go pretty slow. There was this really icy stretch, and our truck slid sideways. It was pretty scary.



I couldn't get over how pretty the moutains were so I took a million pictures of just moutains here are a few.





Here we are at the famous elk horn arch.





From there we went to the elk refuge and went on a horse drawn sleigh ride thru the herds of elk. I'm sure this was Chance's favorite part. Even though the big bulls hadn't come in to the refuge yet it was still neat to see the little guys. The sleigh would pull up 10 feet away and they would just sit there. It was so neat.

Now for my favorite part of the whole trip, and I don't even have 1 picture to show for it. Let me start this story at the beginning. Last year we decided to go snow boarding with Jenny and Troy. Well Chance took to snowboarding so easily, I was on my butt the whole time. Not being very smart we played on the bunny hill for a few minutes then Jenny and Troy told us it was easier to learn on a big hill, so up the ski lift we go. AAAHHH!!! Well let's just say everyone made it down just fine, but me. Half ways down the hill I had had enough, so off goes the snowboard and I walked down the rest of the run. Well in Jackson I was so set on learning to ski, so Chance bought me private lessons. How sweet huh!!! He snowboarded and I learned to ski which I absolutly LOVE! I can't wait to go again soon. I am so mad that I didn't get a single picture of it. But that was my favorite part of the whole trip. Oh ya one more thing if you are ever in Jackson eat at The Gun Barrel. It was amazing.

Our CrAzY Christmas!!!

Just for a warning this is the worlds longest post LOL!!! It has been a while so I am craming all of December in one.
Well our Christmas preperations started out with, Gingerbread houses. We went over to Jennie, Brinklee, and Mckenzie's house to have a little play day. We called our house the earthquake house because our roof caved in right at the start. I had to really put the frosting on to hold it together. Kendyl liked it for a minute, but she quickly decided she liked playing better.



Jadelyn loved it she is our little artist girl. She loves doing any thing crafty. I had bought a little kit and as you can see the candy in it wasn't very tasty.

Our next Christmas activity was at my sisters house. We made little Nativity Count down to Christmas things, and reindeer tree ordaments.



After working on the Nativity scenes the girls were so exhausted, so the only thing they wanted to do was have their dessert while I did made our reindeer. So we had cake and hot chocolate with peppermint ice cream. It is so good you all should try it. You put a half cup of hot chocolate and a scoop of peppermint ice cream. YUMMY!!!




Next is Crazy Christmas Eve. We started off at Grandma and Papa Greats house. It has been my favorite Christmas Eve tradition with our family since I can even remember. We go and have dinner then open all the presents from my grandparents.

Next we all loaded up and went to Grandma Cathy's for there Christmas Eve celebration.



Grandma Cathy made the girls the cutest blankets. They are so snuggly. Jade just told me today as she was wrapped up in her blanket, "I wish you could sew like grandma Cathy, she can even do it without a machine just with her hands." I guess that is my cue to try and learn how to sew. Cathy also made them, and me the cutest crocheted beanies. Kendyl is wearing hers in the picture on my header. She is a very talented lady.

My mom had reserved the church so we had Christmas breakfast and dinner there. We had lots of food, games and basketball.
