8th anniversary. Which was on November 4th. Me being a winter lover, decided we should go to Jackson hole when it was really snow and cold. So we planned our anniversary get away for January. We set off at 6 o'clock in the morning and had a wonderful kid free 6 hour drive. The roads were really bad so we had to go pretty slow. There was this really icy stretch, and our truck slid sideways. It was pretty scary.
I couldn't get over how pretty the moutains were so I took a million pictures of just moutains here are a few.
Here we are at the famous elk horn arch.
From there we went to the elk refuge and went on a horse drawn sleigh ride thru the herds of elk. I'm sure this was Chance's favorite part. Even though the big bulls hadn't come in to the refuge yet it was still neat to see the little guys. The sleigh would pull up 10 feet away and they would just sit there. It was so neat.

Now for my favorite part of the whole trip, and I don't even have 1 picture to show for it. Let me start this story at the beginning. Last year we decided to go snow boarding with Jenny and Troy. Well Chance took to snowboarding so easily, I was on my butt the whole time. Not being very smart we played on the bunny hill for a few minutes then Jenny and Troy told us it was easier to learn on a big hill, so up the ski lift we go. AAAHHH!!! Well let's just say everyone made it down just fine, but me. Half ways down the hill I had had enough, so off goes the snowboard and I walked down the rest of the run. Well in Jackson I was so set on learning to ski, so Chance bought me private lessons. How sweet huh!!! He snowboarded and I learned to ski which I absolutly LOVE! I can't wait to go again soon. I am so mad that I didn't get a single picture of it. But that was my favorite part of the whole trip. Oh ya one more thing if you are ever in Jackson eat at The Gun Barrel. It was amazing.

Cute Pics!!! You guys do look so good. Glad you finally put some of you and Chance on. Lookin' Good!!! By the way, the big hill was easier, we weren't trying to off ya!!!
I loved your pictures! Jake and I have just been talking about going to Jackson. I think we'll probably go in the summer so we can take our little one with us. My dad is living in Cody, that way we can take him all the way up there to see his Grandpa! Now I am way excited to go! And I will remember to eat @ the Gun Barrel. Thanks for the post.
Oh how fun!! What great pictures too of the mountain! I love the winter and miss the mountains so much! I'm glad you had fun skiing! Are you a pro now? :) I tried the snowboarding thing too and that was a total joke! I just could not get it down at all. I'm not very good at skiing either but totally love it! I have a funny story about skiing. I went with a friend who use to be an instructor so I thought I would do okay with it. Well he decided I was ready to go on the big hill after a few runs on the bunny. Well I wasn't ready at all. I couldn't get the V thing down or what ever it's called to slow you down so my ski's where pointed straight down and I was going so fast I couldn't control myself. I got all the way down to the bottom of the hill where everyone was eating their lunch. Of course my luck it was lunch time and everyone was sitting outside at the tables eating which was the exact place I was heading towards well I totally wiped out because there was a little kid walking in front of me and I could see that I would collide with him so I went flying, flipping, snow every where! I lost my gloves, my ski's, my hat, I had snow all over my hair, down my pants and up my nose. A bunch of people came running up to me to see if I was okay and helped me up. Well needless to say when 3 guys helped me stand up it took me a few seconds until I realized but my shirt was all the way up to my chin! Now I know why it was more guys than girls that came running! It was so embarrissing! LOL!!!
